History and Characteristics | 1. In the 58th year of the Republic of China, because of the sporadic and scattered poultry trade in the city, the Taipei City Government authorities had no fixed place and organization. The original site was located in the Zhengzhou Road area of the rear train station. There were more than 40,000 poultry traded every day, and 52 mobile vendors were placed in a centralized manner. In 1962, based on the needs of flood control policies, the Taipei City Government selected the current site of Section 2 of Huanhe South Road to start planning and building the existing poultry wholesale market, which was completed and opened on February 25, 1967. 52 poultry dealers were placed in the original "First Poultry Wholesale Market". The reconstruction project of the Taipei Poultry Market was completed on August 30, 1999. The original "First Poultry Wholesale Market" was closed on March 13, 2000, and moved to the Taipei City Poultry Wholesale Market on March 14, 2000. .
